Maintenance of Sewage and Water Treatment Plants
University Park treats sewage on site with our own treatment plants. Because of this, we all must do our part to maintain our treatment plant. Please read the the following tips below.
Issues Concerning our Sewer Plant
1) If at all possible please use liquid detergent in your washing machine and dishwasher. The powder kind builds up a thick residue at the sewer plant and has to be specially removed nearly on a monthly basis. Using liquid detergent alleviates this problem.
2) If you are emptying bag-less vacuum canister waste in the toilet instead of the trash, please empty it into the trash instead. String-type debris builds up and has to be cleaned out of the main plant on a weekly basis. This takes a lot of extra time and causes clogging that can damage the system.
